![]() Thomas Rhett Country Again (Side A) One Night Only From Nashville Set List One of my favourite country singers today, I can hardly wait to see him live again.Ĭheck out the new album wherever you consume your music. It was great to his smile, and even better to hear him sing. We got some fun banter, a chat session that was jammed with comments and requests, and nine more tunes, including a round of Happy Birthday for a fan named Nicole. Post Show HangĪfterwards, we had a short break, a shirt change and then Thomas hopped onto the couch for a post-show hang. Note, Rhett has co-writing credits on all of the tracks. The pandemic’s influence on Rhett seems to have only served to give him a chance to spend more time with his family which in turn has created the perfect storm for more songwriting. The new record is phenomenal and after watching him perform every song, I feel like they could all be radio hits. By the way, that means there are lyrics videos for all of the songs on the album as well as two official videos. ![]() To help celebrate the release of Country Again (Side A) we were blessed with seven lyric videos including Put It On Ice featuring HARDY, which was released yesterday added to the video for Country Again / What’s Your Country Song from the ACM Awards, a week ago, and the official video for Country Again two weeks ago, and the two lyric videos released one month ago ( Want It Again and Growing Up), plus the two videos released five months ago ( What’s Your Country Song – Official and lyric). Throughout the show, fans were treated to a full set that included every song off the new album, plus a handful of hits. He thanked us for joining him and reiterated thanks to his band. Dressed in jeans, a green plaid shirt, and light brown boots, the singer looked happy to be back on stage with a band. Joined on set by a six-piece band, Rhett delivered a heartfelt performance. But I'm so glad that I'm here.Via Facebook – Thomas Rhett – One Night Only – photo not from the live performance the juxtaposition of just kind of getting older and looking back at your life and going, never, in a million years, thought I would be where I am. And that's just kind of life these days. ![]() I remember, even yesterday, I was driving in downtown Nashville, looking at these pedal taverns and these party buses with people just screaming, and I was like, "Man, if I was 19 years old, I'd probably be right there with them." And now I'm like, but I'm not - I'm, you know, driving a minivan and taking my kids back home. ![]() And I think a lot of my fan base has kind of been with me since I was, like, 19, and I think a lot of people relate to that song because we can all go back to our 19-year-old selves and remember how dumb we were, and all of a sudden, you're 25, married, with three kids, and you've got to grow up - you're forced to. I noticed, every few years, there's certain things in my lifestyle that changes, and they just kind of remind me of like, man, you are just, every year, growing up and wising up and maturing a little bit. I'm still the kid I was, just a little less Jack in my cup. That's kind of where the inspiration of that song came from, especially that first line. You are, like, wearing the front swaddle now with your kid on the beach - you have officially moved into a different level of dad-ness." It's just like, every few years, there's, like, little dad-isms inside of me, where I wake up and I'm like, "Gosh, dude, you're getting old. Man, you know, as many things I would love to tell my 19-year-old self, I probably wouldn't tell him, because then he wouldn't make the mistakes that he should have made to to come on the other side of those victorious.īut, that song, I'd had that title in my phone for a while, and I wrote that song with a few of my buddies out on the road. Below, he shares the story behind "Growing Up," in his own words. Rhett co-wrote the song with Matt Dragstrem, Josh Miller and Josh Thompson while out on the road.
